We Have Been Helping Kids For
Over 25 Years
In 1981 in response to a
growing community need, the Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties established the Social Service Council.
This was demonstrated by an increasing number of requests for assistance made by individuals and families relating to financial
stress, care of the aged, and other personal emergencies.
The Social Service Council is dedicated to helping provide basic needs for Central Florida
kids, families and seniors who need it most.
For Thanksgiving, we helped 72 Jewish Families and 67 non-Jewish Families receive turkeys and supplies
so they too could enjoy the Holiday . In Volusia County alone, there are over 1,300 homeless children. In this
great country, no child should go to bed hungry. Because of donations, we make a big difference in the lives of many
of these children. We help families with rent, clothing, food and utility assistance. All our services are free.
Our school supply project has become legendary. Last year we helped 5,700 disadvantaged youths in elementary, middle
and high school receive backpacks filled with supplies. For Bet Sefer we fund over $40,000, which is 10% of our gross budget.
The only way we can continue to make a difference is if we have people’s support. Please join the Jewish Federation
and help us continue the tradition of helping the less fortunate. You can send in your donation to :
